Cascade365 Teams with EMPros to Support Heart Health

Who says you need to attend the Daytona International Speedway to watch a NASCAR race when you can walk the track instead! It was a beautiful day for the 2.5-mile Volusia-Flagler Heart Walk, benefiting the American Heart Association, with the goal to promote heart health and to support lifesaving research. Director, National Sales, Jeff Howell appreciated the invite from Emergency Medicine Professionals (EMPros) out of Daytona Beach, who was a contributing sponsor for the event, as well as Kelly Montemurro, EMPros Operations Coordinator, who helped coordinate the day with Team EMPros. Walking for an important cause is always a winning formula.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to recognize the patients, survivors and families navigating breast cancer, and to highlight the importance of early detection.

A diagnosis affects people far beyond their health. Treatment often brings real financial pressure on top of everything else a family is already managing. At Cascade365, our approach to receivables reflects this reality. When we partner with credit unions and financial institutions on non-performing accounts, we take a consumer-first, compliance-driven approach that includes forgiveness options for people facing genuine hardship, including medical crises such as a cancer diagnosis.

This October, we encourage everyone to put their health first. If you or someone you know is due for a screening, now is a good time to schedule one.

Daughter of Compliance Analyst Jayla James is a Shining Star

The Pulse has previously written about Myriah James (MJ), daughter of Cascade365 Compliance Analyst, Jayla James. Now she is a High School Senior and working very hard to achieve a college scholarship to play basketball at the next level. We got our hands on a highlight video which is being sent to many college programs throughout the country, and over the summer an AAU basketball coach had this to say after watching MJ against his team: “Strong, fast, and relentless. MJ is a shifty finisher who attacks the basket with purpose, uses her physicality, and puts constant pressure on the defense. A tough competitor who brings energy, a winning mentality, and a little bit of attitude, I love it!”

Her Mom, Jayla, is equally proud of MJ, but is also very appreciative of Cascade365: “I am forever grateful to Cascade365 because they have created a culture where work-life balance is the standard, which has allowed me to not miss any of the games throughout MJ’s high school career.”

Cascade365 Works Hard and Plays Hard: Fantasy Football

The culture at Cascade365 is rooted in hard work, transparency, supporting one another, and being able to have some fun when offline. Fantasy Football is one of those offline activities that has allowed many members of the staff to enjoy NFL games on the weekends as they manage the players that they drafted for their teams in a competitive environment. Fantasy Football began in the early 1960s and grew slowly for decades, tracked by hand from newspaper box scores, until the internet transformed it into a mainstream phenomenon in the late 1990s. Now, fantasy football is a multi-billion-dollar driver of NFL viewership and engagement, where over 40 million people participate in some form of a fantasy football league (source: Fantasy Sports & Gaming Association).

The Cascade365 league name is the Cubicle Crew and consists of 12 teams, where the team owners draft their players around Labor Day and manage them over the course of a 17-week NFL schedule by adding or dropping players in an effort to field the best possible squad to win league games each week, with the ultimate goal of winning the “Fake Football” championship. There is of course a little trash talking throughout the season, but the highlight is the names of the 12 teams:

  • Landen Means Business
  • Okudah Matala
  • Nine
  • Duskys Most Magnificent Team
  • Smita Mountain Nepal
  • I Can Do It With A Broken Roster
  • Tater-Tot Official Team
  • PugLife
  • Accrued Victory
  • Mary’s Magnificent Team
  • Shanalyze This
  • TenTen

The Cubicle Crew is led by two Commissioners, affectionately known as “Commish.” The Co-Commissioners are Portfolio Analyst, Landen Means and Client Services Lead, Jacob Isabelle. The Pulse asked Landen and Jacob their thoughts on the league and the importance of having an activity that brings many members of the Cascade365 team together to enjoy some competitive fun.

“Work can be stressful at times and fantasy football gives us more unity throughout the company and discussion when we have downtime! Of course you want to win each week, but at the end of the day, it’s about the bonds you form with your coworkers that make it so engaging,” said Landen.

Jacob shared, “Fantasy football gives us something fun to look forward to each week and it’s an easy way to connect with people we might not interact with regularly. The competition is exciting, but the conversations are what really make it enjoyable.”
