Client Services Expands to Include Billing and Payment Posting
We are pleased to share an important update from the Client Services team at Cascade365 – the department has officially expanded to include billing and payment posting responsibilities.
While this shift will not change the experience for our clients, it represents a meaningful internal enhancement. Consolidating these functions within Client Services strengthens cross-functional alignment, improves internal workflows, and reinforces our role in supporting the full post-sale lifecycle.
“This expansion is a natural evolution of how we support the business,” said Mary Sand, Director of Client Services and Payment Posting. “It allows us to better coordinate across teams, improve handoffs, and manage a broader range of responsibilities with the same concentration on accuracy and accountability. We are proud to take on this expanded role and remain committed to supporting all internal and external efforts with dependable service, attention to detail, and a solutions-focused approach.”

In January of 2024, Cascade365’s Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel told American Banker that, in its efforts to promulgate the Medical Debt Rule—which would prohibit the credit reporting of all medical debt—the CFPB was attempting to “improperly usurp the powers solely possessed by Congress.” He further advised that “[t]he courts have a crucial role to perform in our government’s system of checks and balances and, given the aforementioned facts, should stand prepared to rein in an executive agency when it exceeds its statutory authority.”
On July 11, 2025, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas did just that in holding that “the Medical Debt Rule exceeds the Bureau’s statutory authority by violating the plain text of 15 U.S.C. §1681b(a), (g)(1)-(2).” Included in there are the provisions of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) which expressly permit the credit reporting of medical debt (and create privacy restrictions related to such information). In short, the Court determined that the CFPB does not have the ability to issue rules that would serve to effectively re-write federal law in a more restrictive way such that it would prohibit conduct that Congress had previously authorized in the legislation itself. As such, the Court vacated the rule in full.
Through its trade associations, Cascade365 strongly advocated for and supported the efforts that led to this decision in order to protect the medical providers that constitute its clients and sellers (and safeguard the value of their accounts receivable). Moreover, consumer reports will be more comprehensive and the credit ecosystem will be more transparent with medical debt visible to lenders and credit grantors—just as the FCRA intended.
